Graphics

Bloom, light trails and speed blur need a decent GPU. Auto picks for your device and steps down mid-race if frames stutter.

Split screen

Two on one keyboard. Arrows, Space, right Shift for nitro; WASD, F, left Shift.

Online rooms take up to four drivers from different devices; the computer fills the grid. The host's browser runs the race and streams it to the others, nothing is stored on a server.

      How to play

      Controls and weapons

      • Steer with the arrow keys or A/D. You accelerate automatically; hold Down or S to brake. On a phone, use the on-screen buttons.
      • Drift by holding brake while you steer at speed. The tail steps out, you take the corner tighter, and the nitro meter fills. Slipstreaming close behind another car fills it too, and so does a takedown.
      • Nitro: hold Shift (or N) to burn the meter for a big burst of speed. The Turbo pickup fills it instantly.
      • Fire with Space (or F). Hold brake while firing to send a Dart or Seeker at the car behind you. Second keyboard player: WASD to steer, F to fire, left Shift for nitro.
      • The weapon you are carrying is mounted on your roof, so everyone can see what you have, and the HUD shows it with its icon and a note on how to use it.
      • Drive over a glowing pad to pick up a weapon. Every pad shows the weapon it holds; a ? pad gives a random one, stronger the further back you are. You hold one at a time; some have several charges.
      • Ramming at speed damages the other car. A Turbo ram hurts most. Wrecked cars respawn a moment later, so nobody is out of the race.
      • Every circuit has a jump and a tunnel. You cannot steer or brake in the air, so line up before the lip; a Storm's lightning stays on the road for most of a lap, so remember where it landed. Only human drivers can fire a Storm.
      • Four laps. First across the line wins, but the results count takedowns too.
